The Cologne Design Prize is awarded annually to outstanding bachelor’s and master’s theses from Cologne’s design schools (KISD, ecosign, KHM) and is presented at theMuseum of Applied Arts Cologne (MAKK). The award ceremony also marks the start of a multi-day exhibition of selected works and is traditionally managed and organized by KISD students. In 2024, the Cologne Design Prize was awarded for the 18th time. In my group, our role was to organize the exhibition and to plan and implement the award ceremony at the MAKK.

Our tasks included coordination and communication between the museum, the jury, and the students, detailed planning of the use of space, and compliance with fire safety requirements. The award winners were given priority when allocating space. In addition, we were responsible for setting up, providing on-site support, and solving spontaneous challenges throughout the event.
