Street harassment and violence are common everyday experiences, particularly at night.Women and LGBTQIA+ individuals experience higher vulnerability in public space. Even in the absence of a direct physical threat, the possibility of harassment and constant awareness of one‘s surroundings can cause ongoing stress and anxiety when travelling.

Along is a mobile safety app focused on helping users get where they need to go more safely. Whether heading home or moving from A to B, the app provides a greater sense of support and reassurance while walking alone, especially at night. Designed primarily for women and LGBTQIA+ individuals, the app provides real-time support tools to help users feel and be safer in vulnerable situations in public spaces.

It combines multiple safety features to provide faster and more accessible support while walking. Rather than relying on separate apps for navigation, emergency support, live location sharing, or safety tools, it brings all these functions together in one place. The app allows users to share their live location with trusted contacts, who can follow their journey in real time. Additional features include a loud noise to draw attention and video recording to document surroundings providing  reassurance in uncomfortable situations.

In SOS mode, emergency notifications with GPS coordinates are automatically sent to the police and the user’s trusted contacts. Fast access is enabled by double clicking on the 911 button without accidental calls.
